Many of us don’t know where to start when it comes to proper hairdressing. Ultimately, it is your responsibility to care for and manage your hair. The piece that follows can help point you where you need to go in order to get the hair you have always wanted.
If you desire to have a ponytail, avoid having the ponytail on the same spot when you have it. Stress can occur in your hair even when using soft scrunchies. This stress can lead to breakage over time. When your job requires tying your hair back, make sure to give it a break when you are not working.
Avoid heavy conditioners if you have thin or fine hair. These can make hair appear heavy and less dense. To add volume without a greasy look, use mousse conditioners or leave-in conditioners.
Don’t use too many appliances on your hair so that it can become stronger and be restored. Blow dryers, flat irons and curling irons all do damage to your hair. Take breaks from the heat to allow your hair time to rejuvenate.
Your diet has a direct impact on the health of your hair. Eating a lot of Omega-3 acids, Vitamin E and various other nutrients is crucial to healthy hair. If you don’t eat foods that contain these nutrients, try a multivitamin to boost nutrient levels.
Try a deep conditioning treatment if your hair feels dry. After shampooing your hair as normal, wring out the excess water, apply the conditioner of your choice, and cover your hair with a shower cap until the conditioner has a chance to absorb – usually five to ten minutes. This heat will help the conditioner to deeply penetrate into your hair.
Grow Faster
Trimming your hair frequently does not help it grow faster, this is a myth. Human hair grows at a constant rate, about 1/2 inch each month, no matter how much you cut it. It’s not your stylist’s shears that are making your hair grow faster, although you may experience a slight increase in growth during the summer, or if you’re taking biotin supplements. Frequent trims, however, can be advisable if you have a problem with split ends.
If you enjoy the way that the hair look after getting it wet in the ocean water, try products that can mimic the ocean’s effects. Choose styling products that contain phrases like “salt spray” or “ocean water”. You can make your own salt spray by adding a tsp of salt to 8oz of water. Next, add a few drops of your favorite essential oil, (lavender works well), and the result will be a bottle full of seaside bliss.
Don’t rub your hair with your towel when you are drying it. Your hair strands are likely to stretch and break and it will dry frizzy. You should instead blot the wetness from your hair or wrap it up in a towel. Steer clear of combing or brushing wet hair if you do not own a comb with wide teeth.
Don’t use styling products that have alcohol in them; they can dry out hair. That can be terrible for your hair health, and you have to be mindful of the products you are using. Carefully examine the labels, so that you are comfortable with the ingredients that are contained within the product.
